Ericsson will deliver first radio 5G New Radio (NR)

Ericsson is ready with first on the world radio 5G for Massive MIMO

First deployments are plan in 2017.

5G radio from Ericsson together with  5G Plug-Ins and access system : Radio System Baseband 5216 is the first world wide provider which is able to deliver all components for 5G radio access part.

5G Radio "AIR 6468"

Radio "AIR 6468" combines huge amount of control ports and functionalities like :

- beam forming
-MU-MIMO -> multi-user mimo
-Massive MIMO
-noise reduction

New 5G radio also is able to support legacy network LTE.

5G  3D MIMO for China

Huang Yuhong, Deputy Head, China mobile Research Institute (CMRI), said :

Massive-MIMO, also known as 3D MIMO, is an important milestone in China Mobile's technology roadmap from 4G to 5G. We are happy that Ericsson's new radio product is coming to market soon to meet our needs and enable us to integrate 5G technologies into our existing networks".

5G Plug-Ins

Arun Bansal ( Head of Business Unit Network Products, Ericsson  informed :
"We are introducing the new hardware that 5G Plug-Ins will run on so that the first operators can start to deploy 5G infrastructure. We are also launching innovations that improve both the performance and efficiency of today's networks using concepts that will evolve into 5G".

5G is happening now

 5G is happening now

“5G is happening now,” said Arun Bansal, head of Network Products at Ericsson.

Ericsson  announced  on Tuesday that it's possible  to start delivering by Ericsson all components needed  for roll-our 5G mobile networks in 2017.

Ericsson is in contact with  26 telecom partnerships and it ensure that fullfil expectation of mobile network providers in 2017 it means that it's 3 years before 5G planned world wide release in 2020.

Target standard of 5G

Target standard of 5G will be defined by 3GPP ( Third Generation Partnership Project ) and  ITU ( International Telecommunication Union and  3G).

5G Huawei technology vision

5G Huawei technology vision

Huawei assumes to project mobile network for  at least 100 billion devices with taking into consideration to handle 10 Gb/s for individual user with keeping low latency.

5G cloud-based services and Big Data

5G architecture and infrastructures build  on cloud architecture technologies for purpose of
providing on-demand resource  and network capacity wherever and whenever is needed.

5G core

5G core network evolution will be designing  with more flexibility
for the creation of new services and new applications.
Cloud computing will be as base for 5G core network.

5G three fundamental requirements

Huawei mentioned about : the three fundamental requirements for building 5G wireless networks :

• capabilities for handle massive capacity and also massive connectivity
• support for very broad amount of services, application and users
• flexible and efficient use of all available non-contiguous spectrum.

Collaboration Cisco with Ericsson and Intel : developing 5G Router

where is was announced ?

in GSMA Mobile World Congress

what are the main requirements for 5G router ?

  • handle faster networking speeds,
  • work in lower latency enviroment
  • ability to handle more and  more IoT devices.
  • streaming of high-definition videos
Kelly Ahuja, senior vice president of Cisco’s service provider products and solutions said  :

“Only technology leaders of this caliber, partnering with a mobile and 5G visionary like Verizon, are capable of laying the foundation of tomorrow’s mobile network.”

“Today’s announcement represents a major step forward in mobile technology that will have a tremendous impact on businesses and consumers,”

Deployments of 5G networks

expectations from customers ?

  • fast downloading and streaming 4k videos , 8k videos
  • using  virtual reality sets

drawback of LTE : coverage

LTE coverage is still a bottleneck . In many country still the main network is 3G  and LTE is only on hi-dense urban areas.

improvements during deploymets

  • developing and improving Massive MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) by vendors in one of the key topic

  • purpose of Massive MIMO is to  tune up base station capacity - it means that more sensors, things, devices (IoT ) are able to connect to 5G Base station.

core network

Cisco set up collaboration with  Ericsson and Intel to develop first 5G router.
When it will be release ?  Date is unknown.

key aspects in deploymnets 5G :

- support  hi traffic volume
- plan and create core networks and 5G  architectures for handling not only UE and mobile wireless routers as it is in LTE , but also keep in mind :
           - machine-to-machine communication (M2M)
           - and the Internet of Things (IoT).
