There is opinion that 5G will require lot of base stations . Much more than LTE .
Hi dense of base stations is because of requirement of hi throughput and peak data rate for each mobile receiver .
Expectations are that 5G will at least deliver speeds up to 10 times faster than what is offered by LTE networks . Please don't forget that 5G network should be capable to handle mean millions of new cell phone towers and sensors.
summary of current speed of 5G :
- Samsung showed 5G demo with throughput 7.5 Gbps and got a stable 1.2-Gbps signal speed to a track running through highway .
- Ericsson claimed it had achieved 5 Gbps on a testbed for 5G
