work on 'revolutionary' 5G announced Huawei

Li Jinge, President of Huawei Asia Pacific
During Asia Pacific Innovation Day in Sydney

Abdurazak Mudesir, Huawei’s Vice President of 5G Marketing Europe said for 5G the world had to prepare for better household access to Internet, which in 2015 stood at 300 million households having more than 10Mbps, 400 million having less than 10Mbps, and 1 billion households having no access.

"By 2020, 5G needs 100 times faster traffic capacity, twice the number of wireless transmission sites, and 10 times the bandwidth compared to the present".

Target before 2020

Huawei is targeting to deploy the 5G by 2020.

The 5G technology, he said, would fully connect the world and would usher in artificial intelligence, augmented reality/virtual reality known as AR/VR, hologram technology, and self-driving vehicles among other innovations.

holoportation : virtual 3D teleportation in real-time

Holoportation: virtual 3D teleportation in real-time

from Holoportation is a new type of 3D capture technology that allows high quality 3D models of people to be reconstructed, compressed, and transmitted anywhere in the world in real-time.

When combined with mixed reality displays such as HoloLens, this technology allows users to see and interact with remote participants in 3D as if they are actually present in their physical space. Communicating and interacting with remote users becomes as natural as face to face communication.
